The Gilroy Arts Alliance Demonstration Garden was created to enrich the lives of the local community through environmentally sustainable gardening and education programs that empower residents to experience the Earth as a classroom, an edible landscape, the center of our community, and a place of enjoyment, beauty, and endless wonder.
The garden includes vegetables, herbs and flowers planted and maintained by volunteers. It is a beautiful place to walk around and get the feel of growing things. There are benches to sit on, a geodesic dome where seedlings are sprouted, chickens and a bee hive.
The produce is gathered on Sunday mornings and sold at the weekly Farmers’ Market (more about that here).
The Demonstration Garden is available for al fresco dinner parties. (Contact the Gilroy Arts Alliance for more information.)
If you would like to become involved with the Demonstration Garden activities, please refer to the contact information on our Volunteer page (click here).
Pictures cannot capture the total ‘feel’ of the garden, so you really must visit it in order to appreciate it.
